Welcome to Atma Wellness Clinic
Ayurveda is the science of life.
Ayus means life and Veda means science/knowledge.
Ayurveda, a holistic health system from India, has been practiced for over 5,000 years.
It aims to achieve harmony and balance within the body, mind, and spirit.
Central to Ayurveda is the concept of “doshas” – unique combinations of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics.
By identifying and balancing these doshas, Ayurveda offers personalized guidance to help individuals maintain and enhance their overall health.

YOUR PRACTITIONER
Meet Murali Swaminathan

I came to Ayurveda the hard way — years of digestive issues, treatments that didn’t last, and side effects I shouldn’t have had to live with. When I finally found an Ayurvedic practitioner, the difference was profound. That’s when I knew this was my path.
Today I hold an M.S. in Ayurveda from Maharishi International University and am completing a PhD in Health and Physiology — bridging the science of the modern world with the wisdom of the ancient one. I’m also a certified Yoga Instructor, TM practitioner, and the creator of the podcast “Unlocking Inner Peace One Step at a Time.”
My practice is built on one belief: your body knows how to heal — when you give it the right conditions.
Why Ayurveda?

Historical Significance

Holistic Approach

Ayurveda is more than just a medical system; it offers a comprehensive understanding of individuals in relation to the cosmos. The Vedas, ancient Indian scriptures, describe the universe as an expression of Consciousness, contrasting with the Western view that consciousness arises from physical matter. Ayurveda teaches that our bodies transform food into consciousness, making the quality of our diet and the strength of our digestion crucial for both physical and mental health.

Purpose and Philosophy

The goal of Ayurveda is to reconnect individuals with their source, the field of Transcendental Consciousness known as Atma. Atma represents pure bliss consciousness, eternal and unchanging. Ayurveda aims to guide individuals towards enlightenment, helping them transcend suffering and realize the immortal nature of their consciousness despite the finite physical body.
Timeless Knowledge

The Three Doshas

Central to Ayurveda are the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These doshas are fundamental energies that govern our physical and mental processes. Balancing the doshas is essential for maintaining health and harmony.
Vedic Science and Physiology

Ayurveda explains the creation of the universe from the unified field of pure consciousness. This knowledge is reflected in our physiology, showing how the principles of the Vedas are embodied in our bodies.
